Itinerary
01
Thu 21 May · arrival
40 km · 2h drive · 2 flights

Land at Bhuntar. Up the valley to Tosh.

  1. BOM & BLR → Delhi

Connecting hop. ~90 min layover at IGI T3.

  2. Delhi → Bhuntar (KUU)

IndiGo 6E ✶ · 11:05 → 12:55. Window seat right side for the Beas river bend.

  3. Cab to Tosh via Kasol

Two hours up the Parvati valley. Pine, river, smoke from a hundred chimneys. The road tightens after Manikaran. Last 4 km from Barshaini is rough; the cab parks, then a five-minute walk up to the village.

  4. Check in · Pinetops or Wood Stock Cabin

Wood-and-stone room with a balcony over the village rooftops. Tosh is at 2,400 m — the air is sharp.

  5. Tosh village walk

One slow loop around the village proper. Past the prayer wheels, the slate roofs, the old stupa. End at the rocks above Tosh waterfall.

  6. Dinner at the Buddha Place

Israeli plates, wood-fired pizzas, full valley below. The vibe of the Parvati in one room.

Fri 22 May · slow day
0 km · all on foot

A whole day at Tosh. The end of the road, on purpose.

No driving. A long balcony breakfast, a walk to the waterfall meadow, an evening on the rocks above the village, and one small thing pre-arranged for the night — keeping that bit a surprise.

Sat 23 May · Kheerganga
14 km on foot · or rest day

Up to Kheerganga for the open-air baths.

  1. Walk down to Barshaini

Twenty minutes to the trailhead. Light packs only — water, snacks, swimsuit, towel.

  2. Trek start · Nakthan route

The forest path along the Parvati. Bridges, deodar groves, dhabas every 2 km. About 4 hours up.

  3. Kheerganga top · 2,960 m

The hot spring sits in an open stone bath above the meadow. Soak. Eat at the dhaba — Maggi, paratha, sweet chai. The clouds come and go below your feet.

  4. Descent

3 hours, knees take it. Slow.

  5. Hot bath at the cabin

    You earned it.

  6. Quiet dinner in the village

    Soup and something hot.

Skip-trek alternative: a half-day to Malana instead. Drive to Jari (45 min), 4 km up to the ancient village with its own laws and gods. Don’t touch anything. Back by evening.
04
Sun 24 May · down to Kasol
20 km · 1h drive · short walk

From the road’s end down to Manikaran & Kasol.

  1. Slow morning, slower pack

    Last coffee on the balcony.

  2. Drive: Tosh → Manikaran

Forty-five minutes back down the valley.

  3. Manikaran Sahib · hot springs

Sikh gurudwara built over volcanic geothermal vents. The water boils enough to cook dal in cloth bundles. Free langar in the kitchen — try it. Cover heads, leave shoes outside.

  4. Drive on to Kasol · check in

Twenty minutes downstream. Nirvana Café Stay or Parvati Kuteer — riverside cottages with the Parvati right outside the window.

  5. Walk to Chalal village

Thirty-minute riverside walk through pine. Chalal is quieter, smaller. Tea at one of the back gardens.

  6. Dinner at Evergreen Café

Lasagna, Israeli plates, the Parvati below. End of the trip pace.

Budget

The numbers are still being squared up.

Flights are locked, the stays are price-quoted, and the activities are pre-paid in spirit if not yet in fact. I’ll send a tidy total once we choose a route — easier to commit to a single number than to five.
